Brise Soleil, Media City

Bolton Sign received brief from the client Peel Holdings to manufacture and install a large scale brise soleil to replace old glazed canopies which were becoming problematic for one reason or another. 

We worked in collaboration with the main contractor, Artez Interiors Limited to conceptualise, design and prototype multiple options before landing on a sample including 3M DiNoc WG-1144EX which an external grade, high quality wood grain textured film supplied by William Smith. Due to the volume required we had to put the material on back order with the 3M factory in Japan!

Each 'plank' was custom fabricated in house as 2270mm long constructed from aluminium extrusion 150 x 50 mm with a 3mm wall finished with flush capped ends, flat plate brackets for fixing, primed, painted and wrapped in the chosen film. Bolton Sign installed a grand total of 323 planks to the what has since been rebranded as Central Bay at Media City.

Both end client and contractor were thrilled with the end result.
